Add inventory type
Hello buddies,

I really need your help before my head busts, i want to add inventory types under inventory maintenance during creation of stock categories .
I need to have these in Inventory types selection;

1. Raw material,
2. Finished Goods
3. Dummy Item
4. Labour
5. Work in progress
6. Packing materials.

Only Raw materials, Finished goods, Dummy Item and Labor are only available in the default selection.

Thanks in advance

RE: Add inventory type
Hi,

There seems no need to add those new categories.
Best regards!

RE: Add inventory type
Hi EXson, thx but please consider a situation of manufacturing plant, they do have finished goods as their output and Raw materials as their Input, but they also have spare parts (nuts ,motors, etc) engineering items used by engineers. Since they are items they have to be categorized.
Whats the best way to categorize them? coz they are neither Raw materials nor Finished goods nor dummy items.
Hope you get my worry,
Thx again

RE: Add inventory type
Hello Jo,
There is no reporting against these categories. I understand that some products can be intermediary products/subassemblies best to call these Finished Goods - although I recognise that they could undergo further processing and be parts in another bill of material.
