You can import them - using a utility script...
Z_ImportFixedAssets.php
There is no way to manually enter them, you must create a CSV in the format:

"Description","LongDescription","AssetCategoryID","SerialNo","BarCode","AssetLocationCode","Cost","AccumDepn","DepnType","DepnRate","DatePurchased"
The AssetCategoryID and AssetLocationCode must already exist - and be set up first before you import the file.
You will need to do manual GL journals to get the fixed asset balances correct to the list of assets imported.
