Incomplete EN_US Translation
I made a lot of changes to our 4.14.1 messages.po file in an effort to finish all EN_US wording. This included finishing all instances of words like "Stock", "Supplier", "Debtor", etc.

As I am in the process of going from 4.14.1 to 4.15.1 I am doing the same for the current messages.po file from GIT. Once I am done I will make this new file available for the rest of our US users. I will scrape out changes specific to our business so it will be as clean and generic as possible. Perhaps we can get it into the next 4.15.1 release...

Question for US users... Do we prefer "Credit Memo" or "Credit Note" and should we be using "Debit Memo" or "Debit Note" for Suppliers/Vendors?

RE: Incomplete EN_US Translation
Attached is my crack at updating EN_US for the GIT version.

Among things updated:

+ Area > Territory
+ Authorise > Authorize
+ Cubic Metres > Cubic Feet
+ Freight > Shipping-Method
+ Debtor > Customer
+ Narrative > Description
+ Stock > Inventory
+ Supplier > Vendor
+ Work Centre > Work Center

Also a few other things such as kg, tonne, etc.

The above was based upon partial translations already existing in the EN_US file so I simply extended them to all other parts of the file.

If you prefer something different I have written code to change this pretty easily so please let me know.
Would be neat to have an alias page that allows users to alias terms in the PO file:

Old Value > New Value
I want to ask again...

Question for US users... Do we prefer "Credit Memo" or "Credit Note" and should we be using "Debit Memo" or "Debit Note" for Suppliers/Vendors?

RE: Incomplete EN_US Translation
In the manual section for "Accounts Payable" it appears we favor "Debit Note" over "Credit Note", though these terms are used a bit interchangeably in this section.
The only place I see "Debit Note" in the PO file is here:

#: SuppWhereAlloc.php:35 SuppWhereAlloc.php:39 SuppWhereAlloc.php:41
#: SuppWhereAlloc.php:99 SuppWhereAlloc.php:158
#: includes/DatabaseTranslations.php:35
msgid "Debit Note"

RE: Incomplete EN_US Translation
FWIW in the UK a debit note would be raised by a customer and sent to the supplier when returning goods. They are sometimes raised by a customer to and put on the suppliers account to stop them accidentally paying when they shouldn't. A credit note is then raised by the supplier and the customer then reverses the debit note and replaces it with the credit note. So a debit note and a credit note are similar but raised by different people.

I wouldn't say this was common in the UK, but I have known a few companies operate this system.

RE: Incomplete EN_US Translation
Thank you and this is why I ask. In webERP we issue Credit Notes to Debtors/Customers (stock returned TO us) so should we not issue Debit Notes to Suppliers/Vendors (stock returned FROM us)?
I realize this is all a bit nit-picky but this is my OCD kicking in again, though it does appear the easiest thing to do is leave it all as "Credit Note"
I also wee we have a mix of Salesman, Salesperson, and Sales Person.

In today's PC world perhaps Salesperson is the best choice?

RE: Incomplete EN_US Translation
Salesperson or Sales Person depending on context is the correct way of describing it. Salesman seems so old fashioned, and in my experience some of the best sales people are women, so to describe them as men just seems silly.

Unfortunately the table name and some fields use salesman, and it is probably too late to change them.
