In our case we have very few items for BoMs so I have added this to Tim's script:

   

It keeps all of Tim's work as well as the old dropdown with monospace font and group sorting by category.

Hi Paul, whilst I agree that your drop down selection looks nice, and in your particular use case is more efficient, the way I have done it in my script is:

1 Consistent with stock item selection throughout the rest of webERP and
2 It works both with the scenario where a company has tens (hundreds?) of thousands of stock items, and the scenario where a company has relatively few stock items. The drop down box really only works for the latter scenario.

I agree Tim but I just wanted to share in case it fit another user's context.

In our case BoMs are very small and share many of the same components
