RE: POS
Hello Phil

I think also that it's very important to have a bill output, I don't know the pricing you'll ask for pos module, maybe I can pre-paied a part and I'm sure that a lot of webERP users will interested !!

so you can invest on your receipt printer, let me know what you think !!

It cannot print receipts yet, which a fairly fundamental requirement of a POS and I will have to purchase a receipt printer. I am wondering if it is worth me spending on a receipt printer to complete it.

RE: POS
Not sure what to charge for this system.

I have placed an order in for a receipt printer so I can finish the job. Hope I can at least recover my costs!!
I am thinking I will bundle the system as an iso - complete with operating system to avoid any installation issues.
I have a fair bit of other work on at the moment so this is down the priority list. However, it is pretty cool though so I am keen for this work to be used.

RE: POS
Just an update ... I have purchased a receipt printer now and testing the receipt output and the end of day output too. Currently it is linux only - I will bundle it together with a small linux distribution (puppy linux) I will send email when I have code that you can try.

RE: POS
I have a first cut at this. I have bundled it together with Python and pygtk and the other requirements with a small linux distribution - puppy racy 5.3 as a CD iso 160 Meg download - right click and save target as from:

http://www.weberp.org/uploads/ScreenShot...-puppy.iso

After download burn to CD then you can try it without installing a thing ... nice but a big download. You need a USB receipt printer (that has attachment for a cash-drawer).

To login user: a and password: a

The installed system is configured to expect a single character userid and password - you can configure this in options for longer userid passwords ... which would be sensible in a live situation.

It is configured to get the data off the www.weberp.org/weberp/ demo currently It fails because of some interesting utf-8 characters - I am looking into this - it is either a shortcoming of python's xmlrpclib.py or php-xmlrpc used by webERP's api creating duff xml which cannot be parsed by xmlrpclib. However, it does work with my local install where there are no interesting utf-8 characters.

(Update: I found the issue the webERP api was not configured to use utf-8 encoding so I changed this and all is well :-)

To change it to work with your webERP installation go to Tools->Options and edit the xml-rpc server to the URL for your installation and enter the database name and userid/password for a webERP admin user for this installation.

Don't change the default customer/branch until you have pulled the data off your webERP installation ... it's a bug

It is installed under /usr/local/Counter-Logic and there is a manual explaining functionality.

Also set up a page on my web-site too.

RE: POS
I have this working nicely in windows now with a nice setup.exe script so it installs like any other windows application with all dependencies bundled - I have rolled up an English and a Chinese version - the Chinese version installation script is in English but the application displays Chinese thanks to Exson.

Download from:

http://www.logicworks.co.nz/Counter-Logic.html

This windows version is for Windows 7. Would be interested in feedback if it works on other versions e.g. Vista/XP/2000

RE: POS
Hi Phil,

I have tried built-in CounterSales but unfortunately it has 'big' downside- cannot sale controlled/serialized items. I found the same on your add-on Counter-Logic.

Do you plan to include this in CounterSales.php in future development?
Anybody modified Countersales.php that includes this capability?

Thanks
