Customer Mailing List / Newsletter suggestions?

Hi, I would to add a mailing list sign-up and self-service removal facility that integrates with my existing customer contacts tables (or webShop www_users table.) My visitors are often asking to be "signed up for newsletters". ANY EXISTING FUNCTIONALITY I'M MISSING? I've searched the forum.
ANY PLUGINS/3RD PARTY PLUGINS IF I'M NOT JUST BLIND?
