Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error

Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error
I am using version 4.11.2. The previous version I used when I received a PO on which the vendor changed the price. If I changed the when entering the invoice Purchase exchange Gains/Losses would show the variation as the number of items times the difference in price.
Now it shows the number of items times the new price. This is throwing the Profit and loss way off.
How can I correct this?

Thanks
Don Grames

There are a lot of bugs in 4.11.2 that I am working my way through.

I think your problem was brought in on this commit

http://sourceforge.net/p/web-erp/code/6438/

I don't have time to check it out right now, but can look in the morning.

Thanks
Tim

RE: Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error
Hi Tim, that looks like it to me.
I undid the payment for the offending invoice, but is there any way to remove the vendor invoice?

RE: Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error
Don't think that's it guys.
The difference on exchange only gets calculated on allocation of payments to invoices - where the exchange rates are different.
A purchase price variance gets calculated when using standard costing - where the invoice cost in local currency is different to the standard cost (always in local currency).
Under weighted average the invoice cost always gets posted to inventory and the weighted average cost updated based on the quantity being invoiced relative to the total quantity in stock.

Will need a bit more detail on this one Don please.

Thanks Phill,
I will work up a detail scenario this evening, and try to identify the script.

Phil,

You are right that it is at supplier allocation that the exrate gain/loss is posted but I think you will find it is calculated on the basis of the info saved to the db by the scripts in this commit.

Thanks
Tim

RE: Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error
Hi Phil,
I am using standard costing

I received the PO everything is OK

I altered the price of one item.
SuppInvGRNs.php

P&L OK

Returned to Invoice with new Pricing
SupplierInvoice.php

P&L OK

Entered New Invoice
SupplierInvoice.php1

P&L off by 81.50

GLAccountInquiry.php
5200 - Purchases Exchange Gains/Losses

The first item should have been a price var of 0.22 with a total of 5.50
The next to items should not have been entered

RE: Purchase exchange Gains/Losses error
Beautiful thanks Don ... so it is a purchase price variance issue not a currency difference. I will search and destroy! Thanks for the detailed trail of screenshots.

I think I have cracked this Don.
If you could copy the attached file over your existing SuppInvGRNs.php and let me know how you go.

Thanks for the report!!
