clone item , change item category causes page reset

not sure if this is a problem with the system or caused by my browser. When cloning an item, I setup the unique part number and description. Then move down to set the category. When I make the category change, the page tends to reset and the previous info entered reverts to the old data. I currently just set up and insert the item, then return back to the new part number to change the category. More of an annoyance than a problem, Others working that are new to the system have tried to insert and the system returns an error because the info is reset to a stock number that already exists. tks
