Adding additional information to stock item

The stock category properties define the additional fields that you wish to use for each item of that category. I thought that for some categories the fields may or may not be relevant. You can make new fields that have selection boxes with a comma separated list of potential values or you can make numeric fields.
If you want the same field to be available accross all stock categories you'd have to add it to each stock category
