RE: POS
Hi Atle,

Thanks for your email too ... I am struggling to get my old head around wlanmaker concept... it makes the host machine into a server in effect ... but without the firewall with a squash file system... I love the idea of doing more with less but I think if the compromise is security the data then it really is a non-starter.

RE: POS
Its makes the host machine into a WiFi AP in effect. So its a small start for a one man business that can be built out to accept what i believe is the theoretical limit of 256 clients logged on to that very same PC that man or woman started with.

Scalability is a value in it self. Want to start a new IKEA? You need to think small, but brick lay yourself inside a non Scalable solution.

And where does internet come in here? I see a locally bound WiFi network that serves the business and no need for a internet connection at all...

But if internet is of importance, feel free to enable whatever internet to this "box" that you like. Try to connect a cable, a mobile 3g modem or even a secondary WiFi adapter. See what happens then.

Firewall and Squash files are secondary in this. Lets first explore the potential.

Happy to be here

Atle

RE: POS
Phil... Your website states: "Download the latest CounterLogic POS archive from http://www.logicworks.co.nz/Counter-Logic.html - Simply run the downloaded setup program."

Where is the "setup program" as mentioned above?

RE: POS
Double checked - I had changed the html to refer to the git repository - perhaps you were looking at a cached copy

I probably should make an easy setup version for download too.
