Hello,
Is there away you can create financial years. say
f17---- f18
July-----July
Aug-----Aug
Sept----Sept
.--------.
.--------.
.--------.
.--------.
June----June
We need to create such years and at the end of each financial year we close it and open another. Is it even possible to lock the previous year say f17 so that users can't access it only administrator can.

In the system parameters you can set the month that the financial year ends, and you can set to prohibited GL entries before a given period.

how about where it begins (financial year), or it'll set automatically that after June 2017 as the end year then it'll will set July as the begining. I've seen the above

Well yes, the next financial year starts immediately after the previous one ends.
You can report across periods, for instance if your year end is July you can still view a P&L or a TB for May to September.
