4.07.6 WO does not do costing properly - ronwong - 04-18-2012 08:14 PM Used to work a few versions ago. Product A Product B Ttl unit cost before 2.05 1.48 606.04 Units before 196 138 unit cost after 2.05 1.507517241 606.04 Units After 189 145 Wrong cost after 2.05 2.05 The above summarize what I tried to do. Product B is manufactured 1 product A makes 1 product B. I manufacture 7 units of A to B. After manufacture, 7 units of A should move over with unit cost 2.05 thus bring up the average cost of B from 1.48 to 1.507 so that total A and B total cost remains at 606.04. But it took over the Product A cost of 2.05. Did I do something wrong? set product B as manufactured. set up BOM. Open WO, receive items, update costing, close WO. RE: 4.07.6 WO does not do costing properly - Exsonqu_Qu - 04-19-2012 03:48 PM Hi, Rong: What do you mean update costing? How do you do that and why? Best regards! Exson RE: 4.07.6 WO does not do costing properly - ronwong - 04-21-2012 12:40 AM if i understand correctly, say 1 nut and 1 bolt makes a product, so if nut cost $1 and bolt cost $2, assume no labour cost etc, the end product will come out with a standard cost of $3. In a closed system, if the erp system only have 1 nut and 1 bolt before the wo, the whole erp is worth $3, after the wo, there is zero nut and zero bolt and 1 end product, whole erp is still $3. Now the before and after does not tie up. simple as that. i manufacture 1 item to 1 item, you can assume that i have a blue nut, and i paint it red to make it a red one, assume not cost of labour or paint, i am really using it to "convert stocks" to move items between colours or attribute. i think i phrase it wrong when i say update costing, we just click on the costing to receive the raw material or sometimg, just the standard WO process, we dont do any manual adjustment anywhere. |
