I notice in many scripts we use <table class="selection"> for lists but in some scripts we do not.

What is the general rule for use of this? I assume it is used when we have a list from which a selection will be made such as for Edit or Delete?

That was the original intention Paul, but I think since I wrote that class it has all got a bit mixed up.
